One of the things you will notice in near the beginning of the Mudgy Moose Trail beginning, The Marina Boardwalk, and Tubbs Hill Trail is a fascinating memorial. It is one that is commemorative to those who served our country. There are five pillars that offer a tribute to those who served and and another to the ones who never returned. It is moving area that has a statue to those local to the city of Coeur d'Alene never returned.

The memorial is for The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and represents the various branches of the military including the Army, Navy, Airforce, and Marines as well as the POW. It may be a small memorial but it is very moving. The statue next to the memorial is for to local men that lost their loves named Bud Ford and Charlie Ford. The bronze statue is absolutely beautifully crafted and illustrates the two individuals. In the middle of the memorial is a marble statue that states "honoring all who served to the everlasting memory of those sacrificed their lives on the altar of freedom in all wars".

This one part of the visiting the city of Coeur d'Alene that I truly found moving. Near the entrance there is a waterfall commemorating those who served. If you are a fan of American History or those who served then this is definitely worth checking out. Coeur d'Alene has so many great attributes that are worth exploring and this was one on my post it note journey to Idaho. #ridingwithkurt #postit
