I get asked alot about various areas of travel. Having been to 48 states I have discovered many hidden gems for travel. Plus I have recieved many various post it notes for various other hidden gems for all over the world. If you are looking to add some hidden gem travels to your adventures this year then here are thee great stops for one out West, one in the South, and the other in New England.
Your first gem is Idaho Springs, CO which is located 45 minutes west of Denver, CO. There are plenty of really cool shops and restaurants in this Colorado mountain town. There are two great restaurants that I have enjoyed right in the heart of this amazing place. The first I found about three and a half years ago that offers great BBQ. Smokin Yards BBQ offers great BBQ and sides. The Beef Brisket Sandwich is awesome along with their sauce. The second is Beau Jo's Pizza which is a Colorado style pizza with tremendous amount toppings on every pie along with a flavorful sauce. Save the crust for the end to drizzle the honey on for your dessert.
The second gem is John's Island, SC which is about 35 minutes south of Charleston. There are great stops here with Angel Oak, Kiawah, and Beachwalker Park. For dining there is the Tomato Shed Cafe and The Wild Olive. Tomato Shed offers a farm and sea to table dining experience. While the Wild Olive offers an amazing Italian culinary food experience.
The third hidden gem is located in Rhode Island. The town of Newport, RI is a beautiful coastal town that has a very rich history and food scene. The Cliff Walk, the Mansions, and the various sailing museums as well as the views of the ocean are spectacular. For one incredible dining stop that offers amazing food that are just as spectacular as the views hear to 22 Bowen's. This prime steak house on Bowen's Warf offers a dining experience like no other.
All three of these destinations are amazing places to travel to in the summer. For Idaho Springs fly into Denver, for John's Island fly into Charleston, and for Newport fly into Providence. Either of the locations will offer an incredible hidden gem experience. #ridingwithkurt
