After a great day at the beach I ventured off to another dining experience that I have a couple of post it note recommendations for. The restaurant has been around for over forty years in the Fort Lauderdale area. It has magnificent views of the intercoastal waterway and the Fort Lauderdale Marina.
The 15th Street Fisheries is an awesome dining experience. There are two levels where the first level is the dockside which has more of a casual approach. The second level is more fine dining menu and upscale where I ate dinner at tonight. The menu ranges from appetizers, soups, salads, entree dishes, and desserts. Every meal begins with their homemade cheddar baked rolls that are quite tasty. For my first course I had their homemade New England Clam Chowder. It was absolutely delicious with hints of smoked bacon with the chopped clam and other ingredients with a creamy broth. They serve the soup with oyster crackers and every bite was good to the end. The entree was the Pan Roasted Grouper that was cooked to perfection and sat on top of a combination of quinoa, shitake mushrooms, baby clam meat and a cheese cream sauce that sat below. The dish was topped with fried onions and the entire dish had excellent flavor. For wines the Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio paired nicely with both dishes as it balanced out the heaviness of both dishes.
The views from the dining room are awesome. The service is immaculate and the servers were very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. Next time you are in Fort Lauderdale and looking for a upscale dining experience head to 15th Street Fisheries. #ridingwithkurt #delta #postit #southflorida
