With the frigid temperatures you may be thinking about that summer vacation. I have been to plenty of great places that were recommended to me by post it note. If you are a fan of hiking here are three great spots to consider for hiking out west.

The first place is located in Southwestern Utah. Zion National Park is an incredible natural canyon that was created by the Virgin River. The park has a visitor center that offers great information about the park as well as gift shop. From there you park and take the shuttles to eight of the various stops in the park. Each stop has various ranges of hiking challenges. Allow at least three days for seeing the entire park. For hotels I stayed in Saint George, UT at the Ramada Inn by Wyndam which offered very comfortable beds and the rooms were spacious. There is plenty of dining just outside the park including the Whiptail Grill along with various of shops.

The next place is located in Northwestern Wyoming. Yellowstone National Park offers over 3000 square miles of a beauty of the American West. There are many areas to park and hike all the various areas of the park. The wildlife you will see along each hike ranges from Elk, Bison, Deer, Buffalo, Grizzly Bear, and other fascinating creatures. There area also plenty of great hikes around the various geysers including Old Faithful. For hotels I stayed in Idaho Falls at the Comfort Suites. This is a hotel that has been remodeled and offers spacious rooms with great beds and a breakfast. For dining outside the park check out the Slippery Otter.

The Final place is in located in the remote area of Northern Arizona. The Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon is absolutely stunning. There are plenty of great hiking trails including stops like Roosevelt Point, Angels Window, and Cape Royal Point. There is a great visitor center along with plenty of gift shops. For hotels I stayed at Page at the Quality Inn which is only an hour and a half a way.

These are three amazing National Parks that offer plenty of great hiking. Make sure that you get your National Park Pass that is only $80 dollars and pays for itself after three National Parks. Best time of year to visit these stops is from late May to early June. Add one or all three of these National Parks this upcoming summer. #ridingwithkurt
