The Renaissance At The Art Institute of Chicago!!!

If there is one continent that I look forward to traveling to by post it note it is Europe. The area has gone through a series of eras including one that stretched from the 14th century AD until 17th Century AD. At the Art Institute of Chicago there is a large collection that commemorates this time Period.

The Renaissance was a era that began in Florence Italy was a revitalization of the arts, literacy, religion, exploration, politics, and society. It also a derivative of the French name of Renaissance meaning "rebirth". The transition was from the Dark Ages to the modernity era. During this time of exploration individuals would set out to seek out the New World which would eventually be known as the America's by the counties of Spain, England, Italy, France, Portugal, and other countries. Artists arose that included Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, and Botecelli along with many others.

There are some incredible pieces of art that were made during The Renaissance from the above mentioned that are displayed at The Art Institute of Chicago. Some the art work that I enjoyed included the works of Jusepe de Riberia and his art of the Penitent Saint Peter, also multiple paintings of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and The Deering Family Galleries is absolutely incredible that has Medieval and Renaissance Art, Arms, and Armor.

If you are looking for a glimpse of The Renaissance then head to The Art Institute of Chicago. It is located just south of the Chicago River. This is one section of the museum to check out when visiting the Windy City. #ridingwithkurt #postit #therenaissance
