Fort Lauderdale, FL!!!
If you are looking for a state that offers great beaches and seafood then Florida is definitely the place to check out. There are so many great beach towns throughout this state that was founded by the Spanish. Back in March I made a post it note adventure to a city that I always enjoy.
Fort Lauderdale, FL offers everything that sunny Florida has to offer. The beaches are amazing along Fort Lauderdale Boulevard and offer both beautiful sunrises as well as breathtaking during the sunset with the sun setting on the other side of Florida. There is great dining that offers amazing seafood. Three restaurants to check out that offer a great taste of Florida include the following. Aruba Cafe is located in the Lauderdale By the Sea area and offers exceptional views of the ocean along with amazing dining. The Raw Oysters are shucked to order, the Crab Stuffed Shrimp are very tasty, along with their Margaritas. There is live music hear and has indoor and outdoor seating. Just slightly south of Fort Lauderdale is the 15th Street Fisheries that has great views of the harbor and two different levels of dining experiences. The second floor offers a excellent upscale dining with a tasty Clam Chowder and a tasty Pan Seared Snapper. Finally, there is Coconuts that has a lively atmosphere and awesome food. Their Fried Oysters are one to definitely try along with the Crab Cakes. The menu is very extensive for all three restaurants with awesome service.
For hotels I stayed at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort that was a short walk to the beach, comfortable and clean rooms, a fantastic breakfast buffet that is served to 11:00 am, and a staff that is very knowledgeable about the area and amazing. I found late March as a great time of year to visit with temperatures in the mid 80's but you can visit this area any time of year.
