American history is very interesting as it emerged from the Native Americans to the colonists through the American Revolution, The Civil War, War of 1812, World War One, Great Depression, World War Two, The Vietnam War, and through the modern era. There are no shortage of great museums when it comes to the Washington D.C. area and the Smithsonian. There is one museum where you can experience all aspects of American history and what makes up this country.

The Smithsonian Museum of American History is a fascinating museum that offers everything that is related to American History. The museum offers plenty of areas that offer a incredible story of the various eras of American History. There are several different exhibits including In Pursuit of Life, Liberty, & Happiness, America On The Move, America's Listening, American Democracy, American Enterprise, American Presidency, Change Your Game, Lowriding Culture, Entertainment Nation, The First Ladies, Gunboat Philadelphia, and more. I truly enjoyed all the exhibits but one that I seeing was The America On The Move which takes you on a journey of transportation in American history from 1876 to 1999. It has nineteen parts to it that consists of the establishment of the railroad, the beginning of automotive and cross country travel, the history of the car and development of transportation through the United States. There is also a portion of this exhibit that covers the history of shipping throughout the United States. There are several models that illustrate the history of shipping and how far it has come with transportation.

The entire museum is,absolutely fascinating and offers a great glimpse of how far this country has become. The museum is open seven days a week from 10:00 am until 5:30 pm. This is one post-it note stop I enjoyed and one you will as well. #ridingwithkurt #postit #smithsonianmuseums
