The Western United States offers some remarkable areas to explore. Utah is one of those that has so many great National Parks to explore. There is one though in Southwestern Utah that offers a magical National Park with incredible hiking. Utah has also been a big part of my life in the last four years along with some post it note journey's.

Zion National Park is an incredible natural wonder in the state of Utah. The park is massive and has a beauty that is indescribable. It was formed by the Virgin River that flows through the canyon. Over the course of time the canyon was formed and today it is a natural wonder. Once you enter the park there is a charge of $30 to enter but if you have the Annual National Park Pass there is no charge. There is a parking area by the visitor center that offers information about the park and a gift shop. From there you take the bus to enter the park that offers eight stops. Each stop offers a variety of hiking and areas to explore in Zion. The hiking is from basic to extreme. The hike I did was the Riverside Walk that provides a casual walk along the Virgin River and offers scenic views of the canyon. It is the last stop of the park with the bus stop. The bus offers a great tour with valuable information about the National Park and each stop.

From late May to October is a great time to visit Zion National Park as when I visited it was in June. Outside the park there are plenty of shops and restaurants. One dining spot that I enjoyed was the Whiptail Grill that offers amazing southwestern cuisine. For hotels I stayed in Saint George at the Ramada Inn Saint George which offered a nice stay, great beds, and complimentary breakfast to start your day. It is only 40 minutes from the entrance of Zion National Park. If you are looking a for a great gem in Idaho then head to Zion and Southwestern Utah on your next western adventure. #ridingwithkurt #postit #zionnationalpark
