Belle Meade Winery and Mansion Belle Meade, TN!!!
The other day I was talking about the city of Belle Meade. One of the instrumental individuals that establish this area of Nashville is named John Harding in 1807 where he purchased 250 acres. The area would become a place for farming but would lead to the eventual creation of the city of Belle Meade.
Harding would begin with a simple log cabin but would find his wealth in horse breeding and a travelers rest. Over the course of time the property would grow from 250 acres to 5,400 acres. The mansion would be added in 1852 with a Greek revival look. The property over time would be slowly sold off to those who would begin settling the area to eventually the city of Belle Meade would be created. The property is now called Belle Meade Winery and Mansion.
Today the property is open to the public where you can view the property and take the tour. There is also wine tasting available and a charcuterie experience. They have a gift shop and information center. Along with a great dining experience called Belle Meade Meat and Three that was even recommended to me by post it it. The food is cooked daily with a great hot bar with various southern cuisines. The views from the restaurant that overlook the property are very beautiful.
The property is open seven days a week from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. The costs varies with the different packages to view the property but the basic tour is $32.00. Add a stop to Belle Meade Winery and Mansion when visiting Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt #postit
