One place that may not be on your radar for travel is a small town located just east of Providence, RI. It's a quaint town that I once lived in but today offers exceptional food, shopping, and history. This spot is about twenty minutes just east of Providence, RI.
Warren, RI is a town that was established in 1653 and over the course of history it has so much to offer. In 1653 is eas established as part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. In 1747 the town was transferred to the State of Rhode Island. In 1764 it was the home to Brown University before the campus was moved to Providence, RI. Today there is plenty of great areas to explore in this New England town. Along Main Street there are plenty of shops and restaurants. If you head over to one block over you'll discover Water Street that has a hidden gem for dining. The Wharf is a excellent dining option in Warren that offers amazing seafood, soups, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, and entree dishes. The Lobster Bisque is amazing with tremendous flavor. For entree items the fish and chips are exceptional. The service is awesome along with amazing views of the Barrington River.
For hotels the Marriott Downtown Providence Hotel is only twenty minutes away and won't disappoint you with the stay. Newport is only forty five minutes away by bus with the costs only $2.00 for the ride. If you are looking for a great quaint stop in Rhode Island then Warren is a awesome stop. #ridingwithkurt #post #Warrenri #thewharf
