Three Great Stops In Arizona!!!
The southwestern United States offers some immense beauty. If there is one state where you can find some beautiful desert views it is located in the state of Arizona. There are so many different areas of this state to explore and it has been part of not only my post it note journey but also a place I have been to about eight times. Here are three amazing stops to check out in the state of Arizona.
The first is located in Northern Arizona and offers breathtaking views. It is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. The Grand Canyon offers two sides to it with the Southern Rim and the Northern Rim. The difference between the two sides is very noticeable with the Southern Rim is about 1500 feet lower than the Southern Rim. Even the geography on both sides is different with the southern side being more desert and sagebrush while the northern side has more pine trees. The views from the top are absolutely beautiful. To access the Southern rim it is an easy drive from Flagstaff, AZ. To get to the Northern Rim a stay in Page, AZ is only two hours away.
The next is located just east of Phoenix, AZ and offers some great views of the desert with the unique cactus that are there. It is very remote but a stop in Tonto National Forrest will not leave you disappointed. It is only a 45 minute drive to this area from Phoenix.
Finally, a two hour drive north from Scottsdale will take you to one amazing place with a view that some say has a spiritual feel. Sedona, AZ offers a breathtaking view of the red rocks in the valley it sits. There is great hiking through this area and excellent photo opportunities of stops like the Chapel of the Holy Cross.
Visiting these stops I found that for Southern Arizona it is best to visit in the winter. For Northern Arizona early June is a great time of year. For hotels in Southern Arizona I generally stay at Embassy Suites Scottsdale. For Northern Arizona the Quality Inn is located right in the heart of Page, AZ.
