The other day I had a few photos pop up that were a trip that I took about nine years ago. It was to a state that I am very fond of and a place that I will never forget. This is one trip that would lead to so many other great memories for my passion for travel. It is also a place that I have been to at least eight times and one of those trips was a post it note trip.
Arizona offers so many incredible places to see and a trip to this state is absolutely amazing. One such amazing town is the city of Sedona. Sedona is located just two hours north of Scottsdale and two hours south of the Southern Rim of the Grand Canyon. There are plenty of great restaurants, views, and hiking in this majestic area. One great hiking area that offers spectacular views of the various rock formations is the Castle Rock Trail. The trails are a variety in length but the main one is over 5 miles in length. For dining in Sedona there is a awesome food experience at Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill. The menu was created by Chef Lisa Dahl who has made her mark in the culinary scene in Sedona. They offer both lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from shareables, salads, and entree items that are all Latin inspired. The service is excellent, the food is excellent, and the views from the restaurant are fantastic.
There are plenty of hotels in Sedona but for this trip I stayed in Scottsdale at The Embassy Suites Scottsdale. The rooms are very roomy with great views of Camel Back Mountain and comfortable beds. The hotel offers a great breakfast buffet and happy hour. A trip to Sedona will offer you a lasting impression especially in the Winter months, spring, and fall. Add a stop to Sedona on your next trip to Arizona. #ridingwithkurt
