Rhode Island: A Hidden Gem For Travel!!!
When it comes to hidden gems for travel there is one state that has it all. It has a great food scene, history, quaint towns, and plenty of areas to explore. On my recent post it note trip to the Mid-Atlantic and New England States back at the end of May and early June I was able to get back to a state that I once lived at.
Rhode Island may be one of the smallest states in the United States but it has a history that dates back to it's founding in 1636. Almost 400 years later there are so many great places to check out. The state capitol is Providence and there are some great restaurants to check out. The first is located on the historic Federal Hill which offers great Italian dining. Cassarino's offers traditional Italian dishes that have amazing flavor. Their Veal Marsala is absolutely delicious and so much flavor. For a great upscale experience closer to downtown there is the Bluefin Grille that has amazing Rhode Island Clam Chowder. The Stuffed Shrimp with Crab is awesome and served with rice along with asparagus.
Slightly southeast of Providence is the town of Warren that offers great dining and shopping. The Wharf is an amazing seafood restaurant that has great views of the Barrington River. The Lobster Bisque is quite flavorful along with their Fish and Chips.
As you travel south from Warren there is the town of Newport. This is a very historic city with no shortage of things to do. The Cliff Walk is so spectacular that runs along the Atlantic Ocean. There are plenty of great shops and restaurants around the Bowen's Wharf area along with all the mansions.
For hotels I stayed at the Providence Marriott Downtown that offered exceptional service, comfortable hotel rooms, and a great breakfast buffet. If you are looking a hidden gem for travel in New England check out the state of Rhode Island. #ridingwithkurt #postit #rhodeisland
