Dining In Washington D.C.!!!
Washington D.C. is home to the United States Capitol, The Smithsonian, The Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, WW Two Memorial, The Korean Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, and other great attractions. There is also a incredible food scene that is found throughout the city. Here are three fantastic dining experiences that I enjoyed that were recommended to me by post it note on my trip there back in May.
The first is located just northeast of the White House and offers an incredible Italian dining experience. The menu is quite extensive that begins with their appetizers. The Provolone Garlic Bread is absolutely delicious with toasted bread topped with provolone, Parmigiano, Calabrese Chiles, and served with tomato Sauce. They offer traditional Italian entrees where I enjoyed their Organic Chicken Parmesan that is lightly breaded and fried topped with a plum tomato sauce, melted fontina cheese, and Parmigianino Reggiano that offers amazing flavor to the entire dish.
For a taste of the South head to the Wharf for a taste that takes your below the Mason Dixon line. Kinfolk offers great southern treats with appetizers including their cornbread. They offer great entree items that range from BBQ, Fried Chicken, and other dishes. Their Shrimp and Grits was awesome with Shrimp cooked to perfection and served over Jimmy Red Corn Grits.
Then there is seafood in the D.C. area with a place located in the Naval Yards district. The Salt Line offers some of the freshest seafood and other tasty items in the area. Their raw oyster selection is quite extensive. The Clam Chowder is very flavorful with a resemblance of the Rhode Island style. The entrees range from platters, sandwiches, and other delectable items. The Crispy Fish Sandwich is battered local cod fried to perfection and served on a bun topped with lettuce, pickled shallots, tartar sauce, and chile. The entire sandwich is absolutely delicious and served with fries.
All three of these dining experiences offer spectacular service and an ambiance that will leave a lasting impression. They offer both lunch and dinner along with accommodated to all dietary needs.
