Pizza is a big part to the city of Chicago, Il. They have two styles and when I ask those from the windy city which they prefer it goes back and forth between the Tavern Style (thin crust) and the Deep Dish. I put this to the test with a post it note stop to a popular pizza stop in the heart of the Loop.

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is a gem when it comes to dining in the city. The menu ranges from both Deep Dish, Tavern Style, Appetizers, Salads, and Desserts. They also offer a full service bar and great service. I picked two pizzas for my choice with the tavern style having pepperoni and mushrooms while the deep dish was pepperoni, onions, and bell peppers. The tavern style had a great crispy crust with a nice crunch. The sauce was light but good along with the toppings and the cheese. The Deep Dish had a good crust but more flavor from the excess crust and toppings. Both pizzas were excellent and will say you can not go wrong with either. For beers that paired well with the pies I went with the Goose Island Neon Beer Hug which was a tasty local IPA.

The ambiance is really cool located in the basement of the building. Will say make sure you make reservations or plan for a wait that is well worth it. For a great pizza experience in Chicago head to Lou Malnati's. #ridingwithkurt #postit #loumalnatis
