Four Fantastic Dining Options In Chicago, Il!!!
Chicago, IL is known for so many great attractions, sports, shows, music, and food. In August of this year I was able to experience this fantastic city with another post it note journey. One thing is the food scene is absolutely incredible in the Windy City. Here are four stops to experience the local Chicago dining experience.
The first is known for their Chicago Dog and location in Wrigleyville. Murphy's Bleachers is a lively bar that offers great Chicago classics and beverages along with a stop to check out before going to a game at Wrigley. Their Chicago Dog is absolutely delicious with the all beef dog on a tasty bun topped with dill pickle, peppers, relish, mustard, celery seed, diced onion, and slices of tomato. Having their local brew called Greenline offers a tasty combination.
If you are looking for a true dive with a great burger and beers in The Loop then Billy Goat Tavern is a must. The burgers are cooked to order with single, double, and triple cheeseburgers and placed on a bun. You have a choice of various toppings with a station where you can load up your burger. A Billy Goat Dark draft named after the legendary stop will add a nice pairing. The burgers are delicious, great atmosphere, and a historical stop dating back to the 1930's. In the famous words of John Belushi from Saturday Night Live "Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Cheezborger" this place is as legendary as the skit.
The Italian Beef Sandwich is a staple in Chicago. One place that offers one of the best is Portillos. This iconic food stop has amazing Italian Beef Sandwiches that are based on Dry, Dipped, or Extra Gravy. The flavor is absolutely incredible and you'll want to add the sweet peppers that add extra flavor. The ambiance is very relaxed with great service.
Pizza is a big part of the Chicago culture. Lou Malanati's offers both Deep Dish and Tavern Style. The pizza here is so delicious with both styles. I enjoyed trying a personal deep dish and a tavern style where both had immense flavor. Amazing service and cool ambiance in this Chicago staple.
