Fort Lauderdale is known for their beautiful beaches and views of the Atlantic Ocean. The other thing this amazing city is known for is the food scene. In March I was able to experience the culinary experience this area of South Florida has to offer. Here are three fantastic dining options to check out when visiting this area of Florida that were recommended to me by post it note.

Aruba Cafe is located right on the beach and offers exceptional views of the ocean. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. There are many great menu items available. For starters I had their raw oysters that were quite delicious and served with cocktail sauce and mignonette. The second course consisted of baked stuffed shrimp with crabmeat and garlic lemon butter served with island rice and vegetables which was absolutely delicious. They offer great margaritas and live music. Plus Lauderdale By The Sea is right there which has plenty of great shops.

15th Street Fisheries is located just south of Lauderdale By The Sea and won't disappoint you. There are two levels to the venue with a casual spot on the first floor and a more elegant dining on the second. The dining on the second level is superb. I began with their New England Clam Chowder which was absolutely tasty with the smokey hints of bacon with the bits of clam and cream. For the main course I had their Pan Roasted Grouper with quinoa and garlic cream sauce which offered incredible flavors.

Coconuts is a local legend when it comes to dining in Fort Lauderdale. There are actually two parts to it one with Coconuts and the other is G and B Oyster Bar. They offer great seafood dishes and beverages as well. I began with their fried oysters that were excellent. The main attraction I had was their Crab Cakes that were amazing along with the coleslaw.

The ambiance and service at all three locations were exceptional. For hotels I stayed at the Sonesta Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach which is only ten minutes from all three restaurants along with great beach access, comfortable rooms, and a awesome breakfast buffet. Check out these three great restaurants when visiting Fort Lauderdale. #ridingwithkurt #postit
