Over the last couple of days there has been one national park that has come up in discussion with individuals that I have given a ride to. This park was part of my second post it note journey out west two years ago and one that I would return to. It is located in eastern Utah and is truly an amazing place to visit.
Arches National Park is a true natural wonder that has over two thousand natural arches. To start you will want to make reservations to get in the park prior to your trip. The other tip is to make sure you have your National Park Pass to enter which has its benefits including discounts at the gift shop at the visitor center. As you begin your drive throughout the park there are plenty of great hikes throughout the park to see all the arches. The drive in is pretty lengthy but has plenty of areas to pull over and see each arch. A couple of areas and arches that I enjoyed including the Balanced Rock, Garden of Eden, Petrified Dunes, Skyline Arch, Devils Garden Trailhead, Landscape Arch, Tunnel Arch, Wall Arch, Navajo Arch, Partition Arch, and Landscape Arch. The hiking can be easy in some areas while other areas can be challenging. I also highly recommend making sure you have plenty of water and snacks for hydration and nutrition. The climate is very dry and during the months of May through September it can also be very hot. I found when I was there in June the temperatures were manageable.
For hotels I stayed in Green River Utah at the Super 8 by Wyndam. The hotel was very comfortable and only 45 minutes from Arches National Park. For dining in Green River check out Tamarisk Restaurant. The food and service are amazing along with the ambiance. The Beef Enchiladas were full of flavor and served with rice and beans. Look at adding Arches on your next journey out west for a incredible National Park experience in Utah. #ridingwithkurt
