Ancient Egypt At The Art Institute of Chicago!!!

Egyptian history dates back to nearly 2000 BC but the recorded events of the Empire began about 16th Century BC. The first occurrences that mention a historical events can be found in the Old Testament. In Genesis there is the mention of Abraham visiting Egypt from Canaan in 1900 BC. In 1700 BC Joseph is sold into slavery and ends up in Egypt only to become one of the most important roles. Israelites would escape bondage in Egypt and go on to form the Nation by Israel in the book of Exodus around 1500 BC. Finally, after the birth of Jesus Mary and Joseph would escape to Egypt to find refuge around 0 AD. Today the history of Egypt can be found in Chicago at amazing art museum that was part of my Post it journey to the Windy City.

Ancient Egypt offers so many fascinating pieces of artifacts that can be found at the Chicago Art Institute from the days of rulers like Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, and Ramses. The artifacts are fascinating and date back to the early history of Egypt. They consist of a variety of objects that include Ostracon with a Drawing of a King, A Fragment of a Stela, Hieroglyphics, A Mummy Cask, Stela Depicting a Egyptian Funeral, Head From an Anthropoid, Tomb Wall Fragment Depicting Abdu and Rebuka with Bearers, and other pieces of Egyptian ancient history.

This is a fascinating exhibit that offers a way that date back to the early history of the Ancient Egyptians. The exhibit is found in the lowest level of the Chicago Art Institute. This is one part of the Chicago Art Institute that I enjoyed and provided me a taste of my eventual post it note trip to the country of Egypt. The Chicago Art Institute is open seven days a week from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm with exception of Wednesday it is open until 8:00 pm.
