During the 1880's the western territories were slowly being discovered along with the expansion of the railroad throughout the areas. In 1889 the area known as Montana would be adopted as The United States 41st State. The history of this state is part of the westward expansion and one that is now a popular tourists destination. It is a state that I have always enjoyed visiting along with my travels to there by post it note.

I first discovered Montana in 1994 as I would begin traveling there for college visits. In 1995 I made the move to this state for college and attending school at Rocky Mountain College. Over the next five and a half years I discovered what this amazing state has to offer including the hiking, fishing, skiing, and other various outdoor experiences has to offer. I found my passion for fly fishing here on such rivers like the Yellowstone, Big Horn, Gallatin, Madison, Stillwater, East Rose Bud, and more. The fly fishing was incredible for both Rainbow and Brown Trout Species.

Two years ago I was able to return to Bozeman, MT with another post it note trip for fly fishing. A few months prior I received a post it note for a travel and fishing experience in Bozeman, MT and it didn't disappoint. The entire fly fishing experience with Montana Troutfiitters offered a full day trip along with lunch while fly fishing for both rainbow and brown trout. The views were absolutely amazing on the float that began around 8:00 am and ended around 5:00 pm. The experience was one that I will never forget and one I look forward to doing again.

Bozeman, MT is located in the heart of the mountains and offers great dining along with shops in the downtown area. It is only and hour and half from Yellowstone while Big Sky is less than 45 minutes away. For hotels I stayed at the Comfort Inn Bozeman Hotel which offered a nice stay. Add a outdoor experience to Bozeman, MT on your next venture out west. #ridingwithkurt #postit #montana
