Over the course of history with the United States America was involved in two wars from the 1950's through the 1970's.. Two of these memorials can be found in Washington D.C. near the National Mall. This area of Washington D.C waz even recommended to me by post-it note.

In 1950 America would be involved in a conflict on the peninsula of Korea. This would be war that would determine the fate of the Korean people and one that would end in the decision of the 38th Parallel that would separate South Korea from North Korea. Today in Washington D.C. there is a wonderful memorial that offers a tribute to those who served and those that never returned. There are nineteen statues that are dedicated to those who never returned as well as a pool for those that were wounded, killed, or MIA. There is a wall that is called the Wall of Rembrance thar is a tribute to the nearly thirty six thousand American lives as well as the seventy one hundred Korean soldiers losts. The Mural Wall adds images reflecting to the war.

America would enter the Vietnam War in 1965 and the war would last until 1973. The war was a controversy for the times but it would be a war that many would never forget. Near the Korean Veterans Memorial you'll find the Vietnam War Memorial. It was opened in 1983 and offers a wall that is one to reflect and remember who served. The marble black wall has over fifty eight thousand names who never returned and offered their ultimate sacrifice. There is a book that offers a way to find the names who were lost near the wall.

Both Memorials are well worth checking out and offers a great tribute to those who served for both the Korean War and Vietnam War. They are open seven days a week and located near the Lincoln Memorial. For a tribute to those who served for both the Korean War and Vietnam War head to these two great locations when visiting Washington D.C. !!! #ridingwithkurt #postit #koreanwarmemorial #VietnamWarMemorial
