There are so many great and spectacular areas of the United States to check out. I have received plenty of recommendations for all over the world and am looking forward to seeing so many places. I was asked the other day what are some unique places I have traveled to. Here are three unique travel experiences that I have enjoyed by post-it notes.
Petroglyph National Monument - Located outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico, this unique stop is a large mound of rocks. These rocks are fascinating etchings done by the Native Americans over 600 years ago. They offer etchings of warriors, masks, animals, celestial, and other unique ones. The black rocks, which are actually volcanic rock that were formed centuries ago. The park is free to the public and offers a visitor center located about five minutes away.
Valley Of Fire State Park - Located Northeast of Las Vegas. This incredible park offers some amazing rock formations along with spectacular views of the Nevada desert. The park is $10.00 as an entry fee, and from the beginning, the drive is amazing. There are areas throughout the park to pull over and see the unique attractions the park has to offer. The park is a short 45-minute drive off of Interstate 15.
Death Valley National Park - Located in Southern California, the lowest point in the United States offers some incredible views of the desert. The area is 282 feet below sea level and is considered one of the hottest places in North America without summer temperatures above 120 degrees fahrenheit. The drive from Last Vegas is about an hour and forty-five minutes. I found visiting the park in March as a great time to visit as temperatures were around eighty degrees.
All three locations offer incredible experiences. With each spot, ensure that you have plenty of snacks and water. For hotels stays near Albuquerque, I actually stayed in Santa Fe at the Inn at Santa Fe. For Las Vegas, I stayed at the Hyatt Place Las Vegas. Both hotels offer a very comfortable stay and convenient to attractions throughout each city. These three unique stops will not leave you disappointed throughout New Mexico, Nevada, and California. #ridingwithkurt
