Yesterday, I had several interesting conversations about traveling throughout the United States. A couple of individuals asked me about some of my favorite places i have enjoyed by post-it notes. Here are three unique stops to add for your travels in 2025.
The first is Petroglyph National Monument, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This incredible stop offers native American history with a mounds of large black rocks that have etchings. The etchings were their way of communicating with one another. There is a visitor center that is located about ten minutes away from the Monument. For hotels, I stayed in Santa Fe at the Inn at Santa Fe. The hotel was great with close proximity to the shopping in downtown Santa Fe. Dining at Garcia's is always epic with traditional Southwestern cuisine, especially with their Hatch Green Chili.
The second one is the Hoover Dam. The largest gravity dam in the United States, this incredible dam separates Arizona and Nevada along the Colorado River. Located less than an hour east of Las Vegas. For hotels, I stayed at the Hyatt Place Las Vegas. The hotel was very comfortable and conveniently located to all that the area had to offer. For dining head to Viva Las Arepas for some awesome Venezuelan food.
The third one is Garden of the God's located in Colorado Springs. This unique area offers great hiking and taking in the scenery of Colorado with amazing rock formations. Located an hour south of Denver, you won't be disappointed with this natural wonder. For stays, look at Hyatt House Denver Tech. Great hotel south of downtown Denver. For dining, there are several options one that I recommend is Beau Jo's Pizza. Awesome Colorado Pizza with a variety of styles. Plus, save the crust for the end when you can drizzle honey on it for desert. Several locations, but one is Idaho Springs, which is only forty-five minutes west of downtown Denver.
All three have their unique history and natural history. Plus, the cities nearby offer so much to see and do. Add these three stops for destinations in Western travel experiences in the United States. #ridingwithkurt
