In 1999, I crossed the river from downtown Nashville to attend my first event on the East Side of Downtown for a Tennessee Titans game. Growing up in Nashville, you never heard of going to East Nashville yet alone, even going to lower Broad. Nine years ago, I met a friend for a dining spot in East Nashville that no longer exists, but it was my first experience across the river. I was shocked to find a new part of Nashville that seemed like a hidden gem for Nashville. I have received plenty of post-it note recommendations for this side of Nashville, and here are three unique and fun stops for dining in East Nashville.
Yesterday, I was chatting with an individual from Vancouver, Canada, who provided me with a post-it note recommendation for his neck of the woods. He was in the vintage clothing business and told him about an experience in East Nashville that offers vintage clothing and fantastic tacos. Garage Sale Vintage is an awesome stop in the East that offers amazing food, especially with their tacos, great bar, and vintage clothing store. Open seven days a week opening at 10:00 am and closing at 10:00 pm on the weekdays and 12:00 pm on the weekends.
One place that offers a sandwich experience like no other is Bill's Sandwich Palace. This iconic sandwich stop in East Nashville offers very creative and unique sandwiches with a twist of the culinary creativity that this quaint stop has to offer. Fantastic Service with limited hours. They are open Thursday through Sunday.
A place where burgers rule in East Nashville is Pharmacy Burger. A unique burger experience that offers an amazing variety of styles of burgers with awesome fries, homemade sodas, shakes, and other great treats. You can't beat the service and the vibe in a stop that is as cool as the building itself. They are open seven days a week from 11:00 am until 9:30 pm.
These three dining options are as unique as East Nashville itself and stops that I have always enjoyed plus places that I tell my riders about. Additionally, it is only a short Uber ride from downtown Nashville. Add these three great dining options when visiting Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
