Almost three years ago I did my first post it note trip. I wasn't sure how it was going to go but it turned out to be an incredible trip. Here are three stops from that trip to Las Vegas that stood out.
The first was the Hoover Dam which is absolutely incredible. This majestic wonder located in the desert exemplifies everything about the man made wonder of the world. The dam is on the border of Arizona and Nevada. There is a great visitor center and gift shop. There are tours for the dam as well as a great museum telling about the history of the structure. It is located about thirty minutes east of Las Vegas.
The second area is Valley of Fire which is Nevada's oldest state park. The drive is incredible through the park is absolutely amazing and there are various stops throughout the area to go hiking. It is about thirty minutes north of Las Vegas.
The final stop is Red Rock Canyon which offers spectacular views of the valley and exceptional hiking. For Red Rock you will want to make sure you make reservations in advance for entry. The area is about thirty minutes west of Las Vegas.
For a hidden gem for dining while visiting Las Vegas head to Viva Las Arepas. This is a great South American Dining spot located in the North area of the strip. For hotels look at the Hyatt Place which is only ten minutes away from the Vegas Strip. These are some great out door places to check out when visiting Las Vegas that will leave lasting memories. #ridingwithkurt
