One thing when it comes to visiting Washington D.C. is that there is no shortage of great museums. My first post it note stop yesterday was located near the Mall. Ths museum is known for the history of flight and space.

The Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian is totally awesome. It covers all aspects of flight starting from the late 1800's until the modern era. There are several different parts to the museum. The first area is the nain Hall where you enter. This is the Milestone of Flight Hall which display various airplanes, rockets, and space craft from various eras of air and space history. Next to that is the Wright Brothers which has the original glider when they first took flight in 1902 along with other aspects of their accomplishments as well of those that would follow. The next four parts depict the Aviation history from 1902 to present times which include We All Fly, Innovations Gallery, Early Flight, and Amrrica By Air. After those areas head to the second floor for some more additional attractions including The Nation of Speed, Exploring The Planets, Destination Moon, One World Connected, Pioneers of Flight, and World War I. I was overly impressed with all the planes, rockets, and other items featured. The detailed history about each exhibit is fascinating.

There is at least three gift shops and one Cafe for dining. They offer an IMax Movie experience as well. They are open seven days a week from 10:00 am until 5:30 pm. You can get there by Metro Rail at the L'Erant Metro Train Station. If you're a fan of flight, history, or just want a great Smithsonian experience then add a stop at The Air and Space Museum.#ridingwithkurt #post #Smithsonian
