Superstition Mountains Arizona!!!
Arizona is a state that I have been enjoying traveling to for nearly ten years which includes two post it note journeys. East of Phoenix you will find a mysterious area that offers a interesting area to travel to. I made a journey to this place five years ago and it is absolutely fascinating.
The Superstition Mountains are a stretch of mountains east of Phoenix, AZ. They are part of the Tonto National Forrest which provides some unique geography, hiking, and views of the dessert. The mountains themselves are extremely fascinating and offer some interesting history to them. In the 19th century a man named Jacob Waltz from Germany hid a large sum of money in the mountains which became known as The Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine. It has never been discovered and the only person to have known it's location is his maid which he told the location before his death. Many individuals have lost their lives trying to locate this large sum of money. There is the superstition side this area as it dates backs to the Native American mysteries about this area that is known for strange sounds and winds as well as weather. There are old mines nearby as well as hiking but there is also a great state park nearby called Lost Dutchman's State Park that also offers hiking and views of the mountains.
This is an incredible area of Eastern Phoenix to explore especially if you are a fan of outdoors and history. I usually stay at the Embassy Suites Scottsdale which offers a very comfortable stay, excellent breakfast buffet, patio to view Camelback Mountain, and other great amenities. It is only an hour drive to the Superstition Mountains. Add a stop to Eastern Phoenix area for the area around the Superstition Mountains when exploring Arizona. #ridingwithkurt #postit #Arizona
