Nashville's history dates back to its founding near the Cumberland River. Over the last 246 years, the city of Nashville has gone through so many transitions. From territory, statehood, civil war, trade along the Cumberland River, The Civil War, Prohibition, Civil Rights, Woman's Suffrage Movement, Music, Tourism, Sports, Art, and the hotels that were the original places to stay prior to the popularity of the city. Yesterday, I was reminded of one of these areas as I took a group who were visiting Nashville from Texas and California that were celebrating one of the individuals 21st birthday. Additionally, I have a couple of post-it note recommendations for some of these stops near McGavock Pike.

Prior to all the excitement about Broadway, there was the area around McGavock Pike that has the Opryland Hotel and Grand Ole Opry. These two places were added to this area in the mid to late 1970s. Individuals who visited Nashville throughout the late 1970's to the early 2000's would stay at the hotel, attend a show at the Grand Ole Opry, and take in the fun of The Opryland Theme Park that was eventually replaced by the Opry Mills Mall. There are still remnants and stops that are still a part of the original tourist stops for Nashville, TN.

Live music can even be found in this area with The Scoreboard and Nashville Palace. The scoreboard offers great dining along with a variety of adult beverages plus line dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. The Nashville Palace offers food, drinks, and line dancing Tuesday through Saturday nights.

If you grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard, then you'll enjoy another great stop near this area. The popular Cooter's Nashville is all things Dukes of Hazzard. They even have the General Lee and Cooter's Tow Truck out front. It is also both Gift Shop and Museum for the Show Dukes of Hazzard.

The history of Nashville can be found along McGavock Pike with some line dancing, dining, history, and tourism. This area is only twenty minutes from downtown Nashville. Plus, experience at both the Opryland Hotel and The Grand Ole Opry will top your experience off here when visiting Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
