The other day, I provided a ride to a group who were finishing hiking in a popular park near the Green Hills area of Nashville. Yesterday, I provided a ride to an individual who was attending Vanderbilt University and asked me about great places to go hiking at as a way for them to get a break from their studies. Nashville offers plenty of great escapes from the busy areas of the area, and there is one such place that is located only 15 to 20 minutes away.

Radnor Lake is a park that sits in the Forrest Hills area of Nashville. There are various trails and scenic views of the lake. With Fall approaching, this is a great area to see the foliage and wildlife in the park. I have been going to this park since I was a kid enjoying the beauty at Radnor has to offer. The park is over 1300 acres and is a sanctuary for the wildlife that resides in the preserve. Some of the wildlife I have seen include deer, owl, turkery, ducks, geese, herons, turtles, fish, and many more. There is also a Birds of Prey aviary center inside the park that offers a fascinating opportunity to see seven exhibits of live birds, including Eagles, hawks, and owls. The park is free to the public and offers a visitor center.

Outside the park, about ten minutes away is the area of Green Hills. Some dining options that have been recommended to me by post-it notes include Char, True Foods, The Green House, and many more. There is a Hilton in Green Hills that is close to the mall, restaurants, and Radnor Lake. The airport is about 20 minutes from this area. Add a hike to Radnor Lake on your next visit to Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
