The city of Nashville offers plenty of great sites to see. The other day I was chatting with a couple college students from Vanderbilt University about several of the places to see in the music city. One such place that came up was a Percy Warner Park which is located just west of downtown Nashville near Belle Meade and Bellevue.
The Park is the largest municipal park in the state of Tennessee that covers over 3100 acres. There are plenty of great hiking trails that range from basic to some more challenging. The trails range from 1 mile to over 8 miles in length. Biking and Horseback riding are allowed inside the park, as well as dogs. Wildlife can be found in the park including turkey, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, owls, and various bird species. There is a nature center at the park and offers information about the park plus there are park rangers who can assist you with questions you may have when visiting. There are picnic benches throughout the park to enjoy lunch while taking in the beauty the park has to offer. The park is open seven days a week from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm. The park is located on Highway 100 and there are parking and bathrooms available.
For dining options near the park that have been recommended to me by post it note check out The Picnic in Belle Meade which does offer grab and go items to take to the park for a picnic, Dalton's in Bellevue, Cafe Sperry's in Bellevue which also offers grab and go items plus great sandwiches, drinks, and breakfast items, and Corner Pub in Bellevue. With fall starting in Nashville Percy Warner Park is a great area to go to and see the foliage change with the leaves. Add a stop to Percy Warner Park when looking for great hiking and outdoors in Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
