History runs prevalent throughout the city of Nashville. The history dates back to the late 1700's. Prior to the Great Depression there was a car factory located near Germantown area that produced the Marathon Car which began in 1910. Only 1100 cars were produced before the factory was closed due to they couldn't keep up with the demand in 1914.

Today the Marathon Motor Works village offers a step back into history with a historic photos of the building and artifacts. There are several shops, restaurants, a music venue, and bourbon distillery located at the property. Plus a couple of these places were even recommended to me by post-it note. If you are looking for great breakfast, lunch, coffee or tea head to Just Love. Great variety of various foods and drinks. If you are a fan of the show American Pickers the ln a stop at Antique Archaeology is always a fun experience. If you enjoy bourbon then head over to Nelson's Greenbrier Distillery for a tour and samples of their Belle Meade Bourbon plus they offer a great dining experience. You can also tour the Marathon Car Museum which offers the last remaining cars on display and takes you back into history with the short era of the car. There are several other shops and stops inside Marathon Motor Works Village.

This is part of the thirteen stops for the Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour. Located near the Germantown area of Nashville. It is a place I generally recommend checking out. Add a stop to Marathon Motor Works Village on your next visit to Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
