Loveland Pass Colorado

Colorado offers so much to see and do. One stop to add is an area that separates the continent. Where the rivers to the east flow east and the rivers to the west flow west. The Loveland Pass is located west of Denver, about an hour and fifteen minutes away off of Interstate 70 on Highway 6.

The drive up to the Loveland Pass is incredible with spectacular views while driving up the switch backs along the highway. Once you arrive at the top, you are at 11,990 feet with some amazing views of the Rockies. There are areas you can hike to once your there but note with the increase climb in altitude you will want to make sure you have the proper equipment, clothing, and provisions for being in the Rocky Mountains.

There are a couple of dining stops within the area. One stop that was recommended to my post-it note that I truly enjoyed was Beau Jo's Pizza 8n Idaho Springs. This Colorado style pizza offers amazing pies with plenty of flavors and toppings. Plus, save the crust for the end when you can drizzle honey on the crust for your dessert. Two other stops that I have enjoyed in the area include Smokin Yards BBQ in Idaho Springs and Snake River Saloon and Steakhouse. Smokin Yards offers amazing BBQ with even a taste of the South, which is located in Idaho Springs. The Snake River Saloon offers awesome steaks, sides, salads, and appetizers with being located in Keystone, Colorado. Idaho Springs is located on the east side of The Loveland Pass. While Keystone is located on the West Side of the Pass.

This is an awesome area of Colorado to explore. Regardless if you are looking for great food, hiking, spectacular road trips, skiing, and everything this area has to offer. Add a stop at Loveland Pass on your next visit to Colorado. #ridingwithkurt
