Over the course of four hundred years of American history immigrants have been settling areas of New England. There is one place in Providence, RI that you can see the history of food from Italian immigrants. There is one restaurant that I first dined there twenty four years ago and a area that was recommended to me by post-it note.
Federal Hill is an area that is located just outside of Providence, RI. It was settled by Italian immigrants and over the course of history the food scene is amazing. One restaurant that I experienced offers an amazing menu with a classic Italian dining experience. Cassarino's has been offering incredible Italian food since 1988. The menu ranges from appetizers, salads, pizza, traditional Italian dishes, and desserts. To start off the bread and Olive Oil starter is amazing. The bread is shipped there daily and the dipping of olive oil with seasoning and parmesan is very tasty. For entree items I had their Veal Marsala which offered a tender cutlets of Veal in a delicious Marsala sauce with sauteed mushrooms. The dish was served with their mashed potatoes that were very good also. The entire dish offered incredible flavor with the tender veal, marsala sauce , and mashed potatoes. For wine pairing the Ruffino Chianti is a nice selection.
The service was amazing and the food was incredible. The ambiance is very historic with a taste of the Federal Hill Italian history. They are open 11:30 am until 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday, 11:30 pm till 11:00 pm on Friday, Saturday 12:00 pm until 11:00 pm , and Sunday from 1:00 pm till 8:00 pm. For great Italian food head to Cassarino's on Federal Hill in Providence, RI. #ridingwithkurt #postit #cassarinos
