In 1864, the Confederate Army emerged on the city of Nashville,and the Battle of Nashville would play out. For two days from December 15th to the 16th ,he Confederate Army made many attempts to take the Nashville with a battlefield that stretched over 20 miles in width. In the end, the Union Army would win with the Confederate Army retreating to the South East. Today,you can visit this historic battle site with a visit to Fort Negley. The historical stop offers a visitor center, aelf guided tour, a path to the top of the Fort, and is free to the public.
