There is so much to see when you travel out west. I've had plenty of chats with individuals about not only visiting the Western United States. If you're looking for a fantastic trip here, it is a great way to see four Western states in one trip. This trip will offer some fly-fishing, hiking, a national park, and some incredible scenery.
The first stop is Bozeman, Montana, which is located in central Montana. The city offers great dining and shopping along with some incredible fly-fishing nearby. For fly-fishing, I used Montana Troutfitters, and they offered exceptional service and put me in the Trout on the Yellowstone River. For dining, there are two dining experiences, which include MacKenzie River Pizza Company and Copper Whiskey Bar and Grill, which both are superb.
After a couple of days in Bozeman, you can head south to Yellowstone National Park. Prior to entering the park, you can make a stop in West Yellowstone. There is an awesome dining experience here called the Slippery Otter. You can also look at hotels here, which are on the edge of Yellowstone National Park. Once you enter Yellowstone National Park, you are immersed into a beauty that you can't describe. The wildlife and natural beauty are unreal. There is plenty of hiking throughout the park.
If you're looking for a stop that is only located an hour and a half south of Yellowstone, there is Idaho Falls, Idaho. The town is very quaint but has some great fly-fishing on the South Fork of the Snake River. Hit up Jimmy's Fly Shop for all you need for fly-fishing.
For your last stop, drive south to Salt Lake City. The city is incredible, and there is a must stop at the Great Salt Lake. You can walk out to the lake, plus there is a visitor center. There is one dining experience you'll not want to miss, especially if you're looking for great sandwiches. Moochie's is a Salt Lake City staple, and the Philly Cheese Steak and Meatball Subs are awesome.
The majority of these stops were recommended to me by post-it notes. For flights, you can fly into Bozeman, MT, and fly out of Salt Lake City. You won't go wrong with this incredible trip in MT, WY, ID, and UT. #ridingwithkurt
