Yesterday I arrived in Boston, MA from Providence, RI via Amtrak. It has been twenty four years since I have been to this magical town. After checking into my hotel in Chelsea I headed to my first post-it note stops in the heart of downtown Boston.
This area of Boston is very historic and is part of the Freedom Trail. Faneuil Hall has been a gathering place since it was built in 1742. It was built by Peter Faneuil as a gift to the city of Boston as he was one of the wealthiest individuals in Boston at the time. The building still shows it's proud history but today it offers great gift shops and vendors offering some tasty treats. There is a wal inside the building that offers information not only about the Hall but about the various parts of the Freedom Trail. The wall is called the National Parks of Boston and provides some great information and historical facts as well.
Next to Faneuil Hall is a awesome market that is a foodie's dream come true. Quincy market was built first opened in 1826 and since then it has been the center for the oldest marketplace in America. Today there are no shortage of vendors that offer everything from seafood, pizza, ethnic, dessert, pastry, and other delectable bites. Outside the market you'll find several vendors that offer excellent gift and souvenir shops.
From either of these locations you can follow The Freedom Trail which I began Today (will post on a later date). They are open seven days a week from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm with the exception of Sunday where they close at 6:00 pm. Start you're Boston adventure off at both Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. #ridingwithkurt #post #faneuilhall #quincymarket #boston
