Prior to gathering post-it notes, doing Uber, and Ridingwithkurt.com, I always enjoyed traveling, exploring, and trying out different experiences and foods. One area in Tennessee that I found always a place to see the beauty of East Tennessee is the area around the highest waterfall east of the Rockies. I was even discussing this area of Tennessee with a couple of individuals over the past couple of days.

The state park known as Fall Creek Falls offers a taste of the beauty of the Cumberland Plateau. Offers year-round scenic beauty, especially this time of year. The waterfall is over 260 feet in height and offers plenty of hiking around the park. You can even hike to the base of the falls. The hike can be challenging to the base, but once at the bottom, you can even swim in the pool of water catching the falls from above. This time of year is a great time to head to Fall Creek Falls, especially if you're looking to cool off during the summer heat. There are areas to picnic nearby and enjoy for all aspects the park has to offer.

To get to the park travel east along Interstate 40 from Nashville to Crossville. Make a stop at Buc-ee's for your snacks and drinks. Then, head south along highway 127, then follow the signs to the park when you turn on Highway 30 near Pineville, TN. On your way back to Nashville, take Highway 70 to Murfreesboro. Once you get to Murfreesboro, jump on Interstate 24 back to Nashville. This triangle will give you a great variety of various scenery from Middle and East Tennessee.

The park is just over a two hour drive east of Nashville, TN. If you're visiting Nashville, I highly recommend renting a car from BNA (Nashville International Airport) through Expedia.com. They generally offer the best rates for car rental. Additionally, the other benefit to renting a car from BNA is it sits on Interstate 40 which is only 15 minutes outside of downtown Nashville and will put you on your way to the park and cuts down on the amount of drive time. Add a stop at Fall Creek Falls when visiting Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
