The United States offers so many unique geographical features. Yesterday I was chatting with an individual from Australia who presently lives in California about this. About two and a half years ago I ventured out west on my first post it note trip to explore the beauty of the southwest.
I have received plenty of post it notes recommendations for California. There is one area that I would be happy to explore again especially at nighttime to see the Celestials which I even have a post it note for. Two and a half years ago I made the drive to Death Valley from Las Vegas. The drive is spectacular and the beauty of the desert is unlike any thing you can describe. The drive from Las Vegas to Death Valley is about two hours and once you arrive it is a different type of beauty to describe. It is a large national park located in eastern southern California. Life here is very remote as the early settlers who founded this area were there for the borax mining. You can still see where they mined, and it was considered white gold which served as the valley's most profitable mineral. Additionally, there are several other stops throughout the park including Furnace Creek which is -190 feet below sea level. There is a visitor center at Furnace Creek that provides information not only about the area but about the wildlife there as well. I visited the mark in March and found it wasn't as hot as in the summer. Since the park is in such a remote area of the country look at staying in Las Vegas. I stayed at the Hyatt Place in Las Vegas and offered very comfortable rooms and convenience to the various stops throughout the city.
The best time of year to visit Death Valley is from late October until April. After April the temperatures get to be very hot and by summer it can above 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a unique but incredible of America to visit and look at adding Death Valley on your next visit to either California or Nevada. #ridingwithkurt
