Spring has sprung so as so many great historical stops in Nashville, TN. One things about not only Nashville but with the entire South in the Spring gardening season begins and ideally you want to plant your garden after April 15th. But there is one place in Belle Meade that offers an amazing botanical garden that I have featured every now and then plus it has even been recommended to me by post it note.
Cheekwood is a mansion that was established and build by the Cheek family who are founders of Maxwell House Coffee and made money off of grocery stores in the South. A fun fact about the Cheek family is they were friends with the Roosevelt family. In the early 1900's Teddy Roosevelt would visit the family and his first morning there he had a cup of their coffee and stated "it is good till the last drop" hence forth the popular saying for Maxwell House Coffee. Today the property has their original furniture, their collections, art galley, and their awesome botanical garden. The them for this spring season is Cheekwood In Bloom which offers some amazing gardens that covers the entire property. The cost to go to the property which includes both the mansion and the garden is around $29 dollars and well worth the cost.
The property is open seven days a week and well worth the visit. For dining options nearby that have been recommended to my post it note check out Sperry's, The Picnic, Sam's Place, The Sportsman's Grille, and Le Peep. Add a stop at Cheekwood when visiting Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
