Boulder, Golden, and Morrison, Colorado

Yesterday, I drove to a few spots northwest of Denver. Three of these stops were recommended to me by post-it notes. Each area offered great hiking, dining, and views of these areas of Colorado.

The first stop was Boulder for a hike around the Flatirons. These natural wonders outside of Boulder are well worth the trip. The area is only thirty minutes from Denver. Various hiking trails for all levels. For this trip, I did the NCAR trail. Offers great trails and views of the rocks as well as the valley below.

The second stop was the town of Golden. This a town in the heart of the Rockies that is most known for The Coors factory. The town has all sorts of great restaurants and shopping. One place to check out that has a larger variety of dining and beer selections is The Mill. A girl that I gave a ride to told me about this awesome stop. You can also go tubing in Golden as well when the weather is warmer.

A place that is about fifteen minutes away that offers a fantastic historical stop is the Buffalo Bill Muesem and Grave. Offers a great overview and history about the life of Buffalo Bill. Amazing views from the top of the Lookout Mountain to the valley below. The cost is $5.00 per person to get in.

The final stop for the night before The Lord Huron show at Red Rocks Amphitheater was Morrison. Tiny little town outside of The Red Rocks offers a couple of restaurants and shops. There is plenty of hiking nearby at the Amphitheater.

It was a great time yesterday seeing these various towns north and west of downtown Denver. Allow yourself at least thirty minutes to drive from the spot to stop. Add these four great places when visiting Colorado. #ridingwithkurt
