Yesterday, I took a moment to go to one sight in Nashville that I always enjoy exploring and going for walks. It offers a history of Nashville dating back to the Civil War. Additionally, the sight offers a great view of the Nashville skyline, especially at sunset.
Fort Negley is located just south of downtown Nashville. The Fort was built after the Union Army occupied the city of Nashville in 1862. It was finally used for battle in 1864 during the Battle of Nashville. Today, the Fort offers a visitor center, self guided tour of the Fort, walking paths, and spectacular views of the Nashville skyline.
Nearby, there are plenty of great dining that have been recommended to me by post-it notes. Some of these stops include Gabby's Burger and Fries, Bastion, Dicey's Tavern, Iggy's, and other fantastic places. These dining options are only a short Uber rider from Fort Negley.
Fort Negley is a part of the Nashville history that is just as important as the music, culture, history, and other venues that Nashville has to offer. Great food nearby, along with getting out for a great walk or hike along the Fort and an appreciation of the history. You won't go wrong with a stop at Fort Negley in Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
