A Stretch Of Interstate 70 In Colorado

Colorado offers plenty of spectacular drives. One drive to add is the stretch between The Western border of Colorado to Denver. This offers some of the most scenic stretches of the Rocky Mountains, the diverse geography of the state and the views and cities along Interstate 70 throughout Colorado.

The drive is 271 miles and takes about four and a half hours. There are several small cities on this route that offers unique characteristics to the state of Colorado. A couple of these I look forward to eventually checking out with the post-it notes I have for them. Additionally, there are several of these area's that offer incredible hiking, skiing, white water rafting, fly-fishing, biking, and other great outdoor activities. I have done this drive a couple times and there are also some great dining along the way. One place is Beau Jo's Pizza in Idaho Springs. This was part of my first Post-it Note trip two years ago. There are also a couple areas to see Rocky Mountain wildlife one stop is the S. Mt. Vernon Country Club Road Exit that offers views of various wildlife. While I made this stop there were Elk and Black Tailed Deer to see. From there you are only the turn off to Red Rocks Amphitheater. You can check out a show or go for the hiking around the historic Amphitheater. If not a stop at Red Rocks you can keep going and are next fifteen minutes to Denver.

I truly enjoyed this drive on my previous trip to Colorado. The drive was peaceful along with a splendor of God's beauty. For hotels use Grand Vista Hotel in Parachute, Colorado, Hyatt Place Denver Tech, or Hyatt House Denver Tech,. This is a awesome drive and one you'll enjoy and not be disappointed with this stretch of Colorado along Interstate 70. #ridingwithkurt
