A Memorable Stop In Montana

Last year, on this date, I boarded a Delta flight to Montana. A couple of days prior, I learned about the passing of a friend who had lost his battle with cancer. This trip was about reflection and peace. Months prior to this trip, I gave a ride to a group who would be instrumental in this trip.

After the celebration of life for my friend, I drove west with a stop along a river that I enjoyed when I lived in Montana. The Stillwater River is a medium-sized stream that offers both Fly-fishing and white water rafting throughout the summer. I took time along this river reflecting on life and casting my fly rod. I began finding my peace again with a life that I enjoyed. I drove west to Bozeman, Montana, with a post-it note trip I'll never forget. Upon arrival of Bozeman, my first post-it note stop was Mackenzie River Pizza Company. The pizza is amazing, and the vibe is awesome, which is located in the heart of Downtown Bozeman, MT.

The next day, after a good night's rest, I headed to Montana Troutfitters for an amazing adventure of Fly-fishing on The Yellowstone River. Ironically, I provided a ride to the owners daughter, who told me not only about this stop but about Mackenzie River Pizza Company. The guided Fly-fishing trip did not disappoint, and the guide put me on the fish. We put in on his drift boat around 8:30 am for the next 12 miles I'd,enjoy my time fly fishing while enjoying the beauty of The Yellowstone River. It was just a time of catching trout, enjoying God's beauty, and great conversations with my Guideguidefter a great day of fly fishing, my guide told me about a great local dining stop. If you're looking for a great bar and dining option in Bozeman, then head to Copper Whiskey Bar and Grill. The menu is awesome with a variety of dishes. I began with the Wedge Salad, which was quite tasty. For the entree, I went with the Grassfed Local Ribeye served over mashed potatoes. The Ribeye was cooked perfectly and the potatoes. Hotels and rental cars were booked through Expedia.

A trip to Montana is one you'll want to add. Known as the Big Sky State, the views, beauty, food, and experiences will not leave you disappointed. #ridingwithkurt
