I began traveling to Arizona over 8 and a half years ago. Over the past couple of days, I have had several excellent conversations about traveling to this state, plus I have even provided rides to individuals who were from Arizona. Southern and Northern Arizona are completely different, especially during the seasons.
Here are some must adds when traveling to Arizona with some that have been recommended to me by post-it notes. Your first stop is Old Town Scottsdale, which offers amazing shops, galleries, missions, and dining. One Southwestern dining experience that offers incredible fajitas is Z Tejas Grill. It's definitely worth the stop, and the service will not disappoint.
Sedona is about two hours north of Scottsdale and offers a beauty with the transition from southern to northern Arizona. Chapel of the Holy Cross, Cathedral Rock, and other areas offer incredible views and hiking. One dining stop is Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill, which offers amazing food along with spectacular views.
Northern Arizona was part of my post-it note trip two years ago. There are spots that you must add when visiting this area. Monument Valley, Navajo Bridge, Vermillion Cliffs, and the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon. Look at staying in Page, Arizona with the Quality Inn View Lake Powell they offer an incredible breakfast with spectacular views of the desert and lake Powell. Plus, it's only two hours from Monument Valley and The Northern Rim of The Grand Canyon.
The best time to visit Southern Arizona is December through February. The temperatures range from 70 degrees during the day. For Northern Arizona, look at late May or early June where the temperatures range around the mid 80's. For hotels in Scottsdale, I usually stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix\ Scottsdale. Great location along with an amazing breakfast buffet in the morning plus excellent views of Camel Back Mountain in the distance while you sit by their fire pit enjoying the sunset views. Look at adding a stop in Arizona this year with excellent national parks, desert beauty, dining, and all the various stops this state has to offer. #ridingwithkurt
