Last night I was asked where the most fascinating place I have ever traveled to. This was a great question to me especially since I have seen so many amazing places. One place that I truly enjoyed was part of my first post it note journey.
Petroglyph National Monument is located outside of Albuquerque, NM just west of the city. It is a fascinating part of American and Native American History. The black lava rock is covered with various etchings by the Native Americans. There are over 20,000 petroglyphs throughout the area that offer etchings about the culture, history, wildlife, and celestials at the time they were created. There are several trails throughout the monument, and each one allows you to see the petroglyphs in the natural beauty of the area. There is a visitor center five minutes away that offers information about the monument as well as a souvenirs.
For hotels I stayed at the Inn at Santa Fe, Sure Stay Collection by Best Western. The hotel was very comfortable and clean plus the staff was very friendly. Dining options near the hotel I enjoyed Garcia's with their Hatch Green Chili and Enchiladas were fantastic. Santa Fe is only an hour away from Petroglyph National Monument. Add a stop to this area of New Mexico on your next journey out west. #ridingwithkurt
