Chicago is a great sports town and regardless of the time of year it offers events year round. The city is home to the Cubs, The White Sox, The Blackhawks, The Bears, and The Chicago Fire. From what I have gained all of these teams offer a great experience but there is one that offers a historic stadium like no other and I have even have a post it note for it or more and it was one my stops of many yesterday.
Wrigley Field is the second oldest baseball park in the United States. The stadium was opened in 1914 as Weeghman Park. The Chicago Cubs would first take the field in 1916. In 1926, the field would be named Wrigley field after William Wrigley Jr. Even at one point the Chicago Bears played there. The outfield is lined with ivy in the historic park and it offers magical views from any seat. The park is home to even great announcer Harry Caray who became famous for his seventh inning stretch of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". There have been some incredible players that have taken the field including Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg, Ron Santo, and Billy Williams.
The game experience was truly memorable and worth the day time experience. The gates open up an hour and a half before the start of the game and as you enter you enter the history of over 100 years not only the Cubs but the stadium. There was not a bad seat in the stadium as I sat in section 429 which had great views of the field and easy access to concessions and bathrooms. It was a great game between the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Cubs ended up taken the win but the entire experience was awesome.
Wrigley Field is north of the downtown area of Chicago. To access it take the Redline on the T-Rail that drops you off right at the stop or as other individuals say just follow the crowd. As another individual told me you show up for the party and a baseball game pops up. If you are a fan of baseball or just want to see the excitement of Wrigley then add a stop to seeing the Chicago Cubs when visiting Chicago, IL. #ridingwithkurt #postit #wrigleyfield #chicagocubs
