Three weeks ago, I was driving from Mesa Verde National Park to my final stop in Parachute, Colorado. The route I took offered incredible views and scenery of Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. Part of this drive I had done before in my second post-it note trip two years ago. The drive consisted of highways 160 west from Mesa Verde, highway 491 from Cortez, Colorado to Monticello, Utah, highway 191 to Interstate 70 in Crescent Junction, Utah. There is one stop you'll not want to miss along Highway 191.

Wilson Arch is located on Highway 191 and lies just south of Moad and Arches National Park. This Arch definitely stands out and is one to check out. The Arch is around 190 feet in width and over 45 feet in height. There is hiking around the Arch, and the arch itself was named after Joe Wilson, who was a pioneer to the area. There is parking available near the Arch. The views of the arch are fantastic.

Moab is about 30 minutes away while Arches is about 45 minutes away along Highway 191. There is dining and great shopping in Moab plus hotels. When i first stayed in this area, I stayed in Green River, Utah, at the Super 8 by Wyndham. The hotel was only forty-five minutes from Arches National Park. For dining Tamarisk Restaurant offered some incredible Southwestern cuisine.

A road trip out West is one of American history. This route will take you through the endless beauty of Colorado and Utah. Add a stop at Wilson Arch on your next road trip in Utah!!! #ridingwithkurt
