Over four years ago I was messaged about going to a wedding in Idaho. I wasn't in the best financial situation but something told me I needed to go on this trip. So I booked my flight and hotel with points and within a few days I was flying out to Salt Lake City. I packed my bags and grabbed my fly fishing gear. Now this was well before post it notes and ridingwithkurt.com but what occurred on this trip would lead to so many positive experiences.

I would fly into Salt Lake City and drive three hours north to a small town in Southeastern Utah called Idaho Falls. That evening I would attend my friends bachelor party and make some new friends in Idaho. The next day I woke up and headed to Jimmy's Fly Shop and they would hook me up with the flies I needed for fly fishing on the South Fork of the Snake River. For two days I would spend fly fishing on this river and peace came over me as I landed various trout both Brown and Rainbows. Then in a moment on the river I realized i wanted to travel and see the world. I had recently made a vision wall and put on the wall see all seven continents prior to this trip. I was excited about life again and realized something bigger was on the horizon. Upon return from this trip I began doing Uber and collecting post it notes. The rest would be history when a couple entered my car one Saturday and heard about my idea about seeing all seven continents by post it note. The beginning of ridingwithkurt.com (#ridingwithkurt) would begin with the additional help of a guy named Tyler from Austin, TX.

The town of Idaho Falls is located only an hour and a half from Salt Lake City, UT. It is also only an hour and a half from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. For hotels the first time I stayed at Clarion Inn Idaho Falls Riverfront. Almost a year later I would return to Idaho Falls on a post it note journey that nearly included Idaho Falls with a hotel stay at Comfort Suites Idaho Falls. Both were good hotels with a great breakfast in the morning. The best time of year to visit Idaho Falls is from late May to September especially for flyfishing. Add a stop to Idaho Falls on your next journey out west. #ridingwithkurt #postit #Idaho
