A couple days ago I was having a discussion with a individual who I was giving a ride to about East Tennessee. Particularly about one city in Southeastern Tennessee. It lies on the banks on the Cumberland River and has plenty of great attractions. I have been traveling to this place for a long time and even have a couple stops there by post it note recommendations.

The city of Chattanooga offers plenty of great experiences including dining, history, shopping, sights, and hiking. For dining inside the city there are two stops that I have enjoyed which include Hi Fi Clydes and the Hot Chocolatier. Both are very good and offer a variety of menu choices. Just west of the city there is also another amazing dining experience on top of the mountain that overlooks the valley below. The Top of the Rock is a great dining experience with a magnificent view. The area is also home to two Civil War Battles including the Battle of Look Out Mountain and the Battle of Chickamauga. These were two significant battles but today they offer visitor centers, self guided tours, and an appreciation for the history in this area. In side the city of Chattanooga there is the Chattanooga Choo Choo which offers a hotel they history of the railroad that was a big part of establishing this area in the early history of the city. The city also has a great Aquarium and Children's Science Museum. To get to the top of Look Out Mountain there is a Incline Railway to get to the top or you can take the ride to the top which offers great views to the valley below. There are plenty of great hotels in the area.

The drive to Chattanooga is about an hour and forty five minutes on Interstate 24 from Nashville. There is small airport in Chattanooga that you can catch a flight to the city as well. Chattanooga can be visited any time of year and one you should add when visiting the great state of Tennessee. #ridingwithkurt
